MCU Alumni Support Enhances College Programs

On February 21, 2024, the MCU College of Dentistry celebrated its 95th Foundation Day under the theme "Advancing Education through Humanistic and Transformative Learning Experiences." This event highlighted the significant role that alumni play in supporting and enhancing the college's capabilities. A notable contribution was made by valued US alumni, which was graciously received by Dr. Ma. Cristina Aurea G. Garcia, Dean of the College of Dentistry, and Dr. Maria Alicia T. Camacho, MCU Alumni President. The ceremony was also attended by Dr. Renato C. Tanchoco, Jr., MCU President, and Ms. Mary Grace Antioquia, Head of External Affairs, who witnessed this generous gesture.

The celebrations continued February 24, 2024, with a Gala Night held at the Seda Vertis North, which saw a reunion of alumni from various batches of the College of Dentistry. A particularly touching moment during this event was the donation made by MCU's Korean alumni. This act of generosity not only underscored the alumni's commitment to their Alma Mater but also demonstrated the global reach and unity of MCU's alumni network. Such contributions play a crucial role in promoting excellence in dental education and research, reinforcing the importance of alumni involvement in achieving the college's goals.

The series of events culminated on February 29, 2024, with an impactful gathering by the MCU-College of Medicine's Batch 1974. This reunion went beyond mere socializing, as it also marked a significant philanthropic contribution to the college. Dr. Renato C. Tanchoco, Jr., once again, accepted a donation on behalf of the university, which was aimed at supporting the college’s mission of excellence in medical education and research. The commitment shown by Batch 1974 exemplifies the lasting connections and shared dedication among alumni to improve educational opportunities for future generations.

These instances of alumni donations at MCU illustrate a strong tradition of giving back and a shared vision for the future of education. Such acts of kindness and loyalty significantly contribute to the advancement of academic programs and research initiatives, ensuring that our university continues to be a leader in dental and medical education.
