MCU and NUS Forge Pathways for Global Medical Education Collaboration


Manila Central University (MCU) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine have signed a Bilateral Exchange Agreement (BEA) to establish a student exchange program for undergraduate medical students. The signing ceremony took place on May 25, 2023, in Singapore.


This landmark agreement signifies a significant step forward in the field of medical education and collaboration between MCU and NUS. The program provides a transformative learning experience for future doctors, allowing them to broaden their horizons, gain international exposure, and contribute to the global medical community.


The event was attended by key representatives from both institutions. From MCU, Dr. Maria Lilybeth R. Tanchoco, Dean of MCU-College of Medicine; Dr. Arthur T. Magboo, Associate Dean for Social Learning and Participation; Dr. Anna Karenina V. Causapin, Associate Dean for Academics; and Dr. Christine Marie C. Bucad, Year-Level Coordinator, were present.


Representing NUS were Associate Professor Koh Dow Rhoon, Director of the International Relations Office; Associate Professor Chen Zhi Xiong, Assistant Dean (Education); and Ms. Pearl Yin Jie, International Relations Officer.


Through this partnership, MCU and NUS are committed to nurturing the next generation of medical professionals who are not only academically competent but also culturally sensitive, compassionate, and equipped to address global health challenges.
