Pharmacy Centralinos hailed as Research Colloquium Champion


July 21, 2023 - MCU-College of Pharmacy held its virtual Research Colloquium last Friday with the theme "Impactful Pharmacy Research in the Now Normal." The event provided an excellent platform for students and faculty researchers to share significant findings from their studies, seek feedback from experts to enhance their research output, and inspire others to pursue their research endeavors.


The Research Colloquium featured presentations from third-year students from the top three groups with the highest grades during their final defense, alongside Ms. Christine Terrado, a distinguished faculty member of the College of Pharmacy. Additionally, selected students from partner institutions, namely National University (NU), Philippine Women’s University (PWU), and St. Dominic College of Asia, also showcased their groundbreaking researches in the latter part of the event. A panel of experts, including Dr. Ronald S. Go, Dr. Agnes V. Raymundo, Dr. Nimfa Gambalan, and Dr. Karina Batu-Villena, conducted a comprehensive question and answer session following all the presentations, providing valuable insights and evaluation.




The prestigious title of "Champion" in the Research Colloquium was awarded to the research project titled "Practice and Challenges of Pharmacists in Independent Caloocan-based Drugstores Regarding the Utilization of Patient Medication Profiling," presented by Klarisse F. Barroga, Dianne-Joy V. Bartonado, Reynero D. Punzalan III, and Airish Serrano from MCU-College of Pharmacy. Furthermore, Ms. Alexandra Lee H. Agbayani, from the research group that presented "Knowledge and Perspectives of College Students on Antimicrobial Stewardship: A Basis for Public Health Opportunity," was recognized as the BEST PRESENTER. The top three research projects received well-deserved certificates and cash prizes to honor their exemplary contributions.


The Research Colloquium also celebrated the achievements of partner institutions, with Danah Kriztia S. Bugarin from National University awarded as the BEST PRESENTER for her research titled "Knowledge, Perception, and Practices on Antibiotics Use and Dispensing of Community Pharmacy Personnel of Independent Drugstores in Mainland, Binangonan, Rizal."
