With Manila Central University’s continuous adherence to its mission to “Nurture Transformative Learning Experiences,” the institution is expanding to the international quality ladder.
MCU’s management team, the Vice President for Planning and External Affairs, Dr. Renato C. Tanchoco Jr. and the Head of Quality Assurance Office, Mr. Ronald R. Mendoza, attended the 9th Tier 1 Training of the Asian University Network - Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) at the VIE Hotel Bangkok– M gallery in Bangkok, Thailand last October 17 to 20, 2022.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) pioneered to effectuate the aspiration of harmonizing fundamental educational guidelines and the pursuit of constant advancements to the academic standards of universities in the ASEAN region.
Moreover, the initial training was always scheduled virtually due to the travel restriction brought about by the Coronavirus disease pandemic. Nonetheless, the 9th AUN-QA Training Course for Accomplishing Programme Assessment this year has reverted to its original format and is now exclusively conducted in person. The AUN-QA Training Course (Version 4.0) involved over thirty participants from six ASEAN countries: the Philippines, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand. Also, four esteemed coaches spearheaded it, trailblazing refine knowledge to the participants.
In harmony with AUN-QA Tier 1 Training standards, MCU’s engagement in the event qualifies the university to become an Associate Member of the AUN, allowing it to pave the way for success for the university to submit its programs for review following international standards.
