Manila Central University and Executive Optical Inc. (EO) have established an innovative initiative that marks a significant milestone in the future of optometry education and industry.
On April 18, 2023, the partnership was formalized by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) led by Dr. Renato C. Tanchoco, MCU's Vice President for Planning and External Affairs. The signing was witnessed by EO's President and Founder, Dr. Maximino Uy, and esteemed guests, including Ms. Rachel Uy-Sim and Mr. Robert Fundales.
This partnership aims to provide MCU optometry students with numerous career development activities, job referrals, and internship opportunities. By doing so, MCU and EO aim to bridge the gap between optometry education and industry, allowing students to gain practical experience and prepare them for the workforce.
The partnership is also expected to positively impact the optometry field, as the two institutions work together to promote the value of eye health and quality eye care services to the community.
