MCU Biology Program Collaborates with UPLB Museum of Natural History

Manila Central University (MCU) and the University of the Philippines Los Baños Museum of Natural History (UPLB MNH) have recently collaborated to identify tree species and assess heritage trees within the MCU campus. Prof. Michelle A. San Pascual and Prof. Annalee S. Hadsall, both renowned botanical field experts, provide invaluable guidance to Biology students during the careful collection of herbarium specimens as part of this collaborative activity.

Moreover, the taxidermied specimens in MCU's collection have received updated identification thanks to the involvement of UPLB MNH's team of expert wildlife consultants, namely Dr. Juan Carlos T. Gonzales, Dr. Anna Pauline O. De Guia, and Prof. Florante A. Cruz.

Furthermore, Dr. Marian P. De Leon, the Director of the UPLB MNH, shares her expert opinion on enhancing the Microbiology Laboratory and provides invaluable insights on various matters crucial to advancing the research culture within the program.

Dr. Renato C. Tanchoco, the Vice President for Planning and External Affairs, and Dr. Angelo C. Maduli, the Vice President for Academic, express their sincere gratitude and wholeheartedly extend their support to these esteemed scientists.

The collaborative project between MCU's Biology Program and UPLB MNH is an inspiring example of how academic institutions can come together to further scientific research and promote a culture of excellence.
